Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) in Vocal Performance  ☬

Focus: Opera Performance


Program Description:

The D.M.A. in Vocal Performance is a terminal degree designed for advanced singers pursuing careers as professional opera performers, teaching artists, or applied voice faculty. This program emphasizes vocal technique, stylistic interpretation, performance practice, stagecraft, and scholarship, with a strong focus on opera. Students will culminate their studies with a capstone project or dissertation involving a full-length operatic performance, lecture-recital, or scholarly research related to opera.


Credit Hours Required:

Minimum of 60 credit hours beyond the master’s degree.
